Title: Senior Project Manager, PMI
LOcation: Covidien - MA
Contract Duration: 6 months plus


Job Requirements:

1. 5 - 7+ years of project management experience utilizing proven project
management processes and frameworks
2. Experience in the life sciences industry is preferred, particularly with
commercial (e.g. sales and marketing) organizations, order-to-cash
processes, and/or data analytics.
3. Proven ability in partnering with leadership in the creation and
achievement of strategies and the ability to communicate effectively with
different levels of management and influence multiple stakeholder groups
4. Proven ability to work effectively with sponsors to gain necessary
resources and support
5. Consulting and coaching experience using highly developed interpersonal,
influence, and relationship skills
6. Applicant should also have knowledge and experience of the life sciences
industry
7. PMI certification is a plus
8. Experience in lean/six sigma or other operational excellence frameworks
is desired plus.
Job Responsibilities:
• Project Manager of the overall project specific to the Business Analytics
department
• Develop and sustain the project planning, maintenance of metrics and
scorecards, milestones to track, evaluate and report project performance
• Ensure ongoing risks and issues are recognized, resolved and communicated
• Responsible for issue identification working with the business leads, IS
leads and Office of Portfolio and Program Management
o Prioritization and appropriate escalation for timely resolution of
project risks and issues
• Communication, organization and materials management of meetings
including facilitation; project team meetings, one–on-one meetings, and
other ad-hoc meetings as needed
• Responsible for Governance Team  meeting organization and facilitation
including materials management throughout the project timeline
• Coordination with functional experts and extended team to communicate and
ensure project deliverables and planning are complete and executed.  Ensure
deliverables are met considering scope, budget and resources
• Prepare and manage budget, resource plan and schedules
• Manage the SharePoint site for the projects.  Further develop the site
for efficient project details and communication
• Run the project plan using PM Body of Knowledge (PmBok) and supporting
methodologies
• Manage the stage exit / phase reviews: Organization, facilitation, and
materials management for each
• Responsible for organization and distribution of meeting minutes for all
above meetings
o Identify and communicate to team and identified stakeholders

Description:

Background:

The need for a project manager is to support the Director of Business
Analytics to drive and manage multiple projects that are in process or will
be initiated in the coming weeks. This PM will be expected to organize,
drive and manage the initiatives to meet established success criteria
leveraging the established PMO methodology.  A strong background in back
office business operations and information technology planning and
execution is essential.  Sales reporting and business analytics processes
background is also required.
