7 years System Administration experience, with at least 5 years experience
administering Redhat Linux environments. Strong Linux System Administration
and scripting skills.

Experience with any of the following is a plus: *RHEL Clustering, RHEL HPC,
RHEL Satellite, Dell/Intel hardware, EMC PowerPath,* NAGIOS Monitoring, IBM
HTTPServer (Apache) IBM WebSphere Product Family, DB2 or Oracle on Linux,
Postfix/Sendmail/Mailscanner, SMTP mail relays, Sterling
Connect:Enterprise, Cybermation, Netbackup, Linux running on VMWARE.

*Job Duties:*
Seasoned IT professional providing intermediate Linux System Administration
expertise in supporting the organization’s technical infrastructure.
Responsibilities include providing Tier 1-2 Linux Administrator support of
an enterprise environment:
Conducts complete diagnostics of most business problems, factoring in a
strong understanding of the technical architecture. Anticipates
implementation obstacles. Can analyze cross-technology and cross platform
issues.
Leads the analysis of vendor proposals, participates in the formulation of
the project plan, coordinate vendors, build and conduct tests, and tracks
progress.
Works effectively on a continuing basis with customers to understand and
explain business and technical issues. Seen by customers as a resource in
IT for technical solutions.
Forms productive networks with internal and external customers and the
vendor community.
Responsible for all aspects of Linux system administration including
security, patching, troubleshooting OS/hardware issues, performance tuning,
virtualization, and clustering for multi-geographical and multi-application
environment.
Provides technical leadership to project teams by designing and supporting
hardware and Linux solutions in support of project specifications
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical
teammates, excellent documentation skills
Supports RHEL HPC cluster for Product Development Group modeling simulations
Supports multiple environments with IBM WebSphere environments and RHEL
Clusters for IBM DB2
Support for Sterling Connect:Enterprise environment, including all
associated file transfer mechanisms (Connect:Direct, SSH, PGP, SSL, etc).
Position is required to be on call 24/7
