*SYSTEMS ENGINEER (storage)* *BOSTON, MA* *CONTRACT THROUGH FEBRUARY 2013 or longer * *Local only* *Max Rate $55/hour.* Candidate will be part of the Storage team and primarily be responsible for support and projects pertaining to Storage and NAS environments. The intermediate level storage engineer is responsible for implementation and ongoing management of EMC and Cisco storage products and associated support hardware/software. This individual will be part of a team that includes mid-level and Sr. Engineers primarily focused on Storage design, implementation, operations and support. *Day to Day Operations includes: *Support the day to day operations of NAS including Rainfinity, File Shares, User Shares, CIFS, NFS, and FTP. Support the day to day operations of SAN storage environment including MDS fabrics, DMX and VNX storage arrays, Centera, and EMC ControlCenter software. Manage and update SAN/storage standards, polices, and procedures as required Manage the physical and logical configuration of storage media and storage management software to ensure optimum use of data storage space. Assess and support evaluation of new products, facilities and operating system releases from storage technical support Participate in on-call rotation for 24x7support for escalated problem resolution and business unit based projects. Collecting, formatting, and analyzing data for capacity planning and performance monitoring Ability to prioritize and work within constraints of existing strictly controlled change, incident, and service management systems. Develop and articulate storage configurations based on a customer's strategic business or technical requirements ascertained from working with multiple business units across the organization. Ability to work with vendor support to resolve production issues in a timely manner. Ability to utilize existing IT services including Lotus Notes, MS Office, and SharePoint. *Position Requirements: *Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in IT field with 2+ years of Storage Experience working for an enterprise class corporation Experience in provisioning, maintenance, troubleshooting of enterprise storage systems Experience in all types of storage technologies including EMC NAS, DMX, VNX/Clariion, Centera, Cisco MDS SAN switches, SYMCLI, NAVICLI, Powerpath, and Controlcenter. Experience in storage provisioning and support on VMware, Windows, Solaris, and Linux platforms including clustering and DR configurations..
