| Duties & Responsibilites : | JOB Overview:
-This position is for a Database Administrator with 5 years of experience in SQL Server 2008 and above Qualified candidates must have worked as a Production and Application DBA (not necessary to be simultaneous).
-Provide standard, well-structures work planning which defines scope, resources, commitments, quality, risks, and acceptance criteria.
-Ensure that overall application designs remain within project scope.
-Work with customer business units to understand their business processes.
-Work with developers to identify direction of software and DB system changes.
-Ensure business requirements are supported by the design.
-Perform necessary system changes as required with proper authorization and Properly documented requirements change.
-Analyze, define, and document how the applications will support functional and business requirements.
-Coordinate these efforts with project managers, developers, team lean and Management.
-Understand supporting/interfacing system applications.
-Approve the determined need for new software/hardware.
-Communicate and resolve application interface issues with other Lead Developers and junior functional architects as needed.
-Monitor and measure maintenance and development process effectiveness.
-Communicate clearly the program/application goals, operational and organizational philosophies, and policies and procedures to the junior functional architects
-Communicate to junior functional architects their relationships between their work and assignments and the organizational and/or program objectives.
-Maintain current active notes of all meetings attended, noting changes and impact issues.
Skills Required / Desired:
-8-10+ years of IT experience Required
-Prior experience as both a Production and Application DBA (not necessary concurrently) Required
-Prior experience as an independent/lead DBA Required
-Prior experience working with infrastructure as a DBA Required
-Strong Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Required
-Strong MS SQL 2008 and Procedural Language Required
-Prior experience working with Data Modeling Tools Required
-Strong experience with SQL Security and establishment of maintenance jobs Required
-Strong MS SQL 2008 R2 and above-Highly desired
-Erwin data modeling tool Highly desired
-Prior experience with State Health policy Nice to have
-Strong verbal and written communication skills Required
