| Duties & Responsibilites : | _javascript_ Web Development Engineer We are seeking a dynamic, creative, expert _javascript_ developer to join our next-generation engineering team. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team developing a next-generation platform using the latest software technologies and frameworks. Responsibilities: • Provide technical expertise by determining and developing approaches to solutions for a wide range of complex software engineering problems • Define and develop original and creative technical solutions meeting scalability, security, quality, and performance standards • Develop, design, and maintain web-based user interfaces • Produce web pages with clean, standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and _javascript_, leveraging existing _javascript_ frameworks and templating libraries • Analyze requirements for new products/product enhancements, including research of new technologies • Collaborate with software engineers, UI/Graphic Designers, UX Designers, and Product Management on feature prioritization, design, and implementation • Identify performance goals across a variety of scenarios, measure performance, and optimize code to meet these goals • Implement advanced UI features • Write/automate unit tests, collaborate with the test team in resolving defects and in developing integration/system test plans • Perform engineering tasks to help your team meet commitments and achieve goals • Proactively share knowledge with team members; mentor team members and less experienced software engineer Required Skills: • Strong understanding and experience with software engineering concepts, development best practices and development activities for all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle • Expert in _javascript_ development for complex web applications • Expert knowledge of HTML, including latest HTML5 features • Expert knowledge of CSS, including latest CSS3 features • Expert knowledge of object-oriented code structure and organization, preferably for a single-page application (e.g. RequireJS, Knockout.js, Backbone.js) • Solid experience using UI Frameworks and templating libraries (e.g. jQuery, LESS, underscore, Jade, socket.io) • Solid experience using _javascript_ unit testing techniques and frameworks (e.g. Mocha, Jasmine, qunit) • Solid understanding of web technologies (e.g. WebSockets, AJAX, HTTP, JSON) • Experience supporting multiple platforms and browsers using Responsive Design • Excellent knowledge of debugging techniques and tools • Proficiency in source code version control systems (e.g. Git, GitHub, Mercurial) • Demonstrated strong analytical/problem-solving skills on difficult/complex problems • Advanced understanding of object oriented design and development techniques • Willingness to work in a dynamic team environment to deliver exceptional quality and value • Willingness to speak up, raise issues and risks, and offer solutions • Follows good, clean, maintainable software development practices such as clean code, refactoring, and design patterns • Must be a team player and willing to help and share knowledge with others • Excellent written and oral communication skills including presenting status and risks to management Additional Preferred Skills: • Development experience writing, modifying, or extending _javascript_ libraries • Development experience on Node.js server applications • Experience operating within a SCRUM/Agile team • Experience working collaboratively with a user experience team, including building the UI from wireframes, comps, and style guides Qualifications • Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field • 7+ years of experience in software engineering/development or an equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge • 4+ years of scripting experience with _javascript_ and at least one _javascript_ library (jQuery, Dojo, YUI, etc.) |
