Duties & Responsibilites : Solves Information system requirements by meeting project objectives, and analyzing user needs and developing solutions to complex business problems.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Requirements Analysis

•         Analyze business processes and procedures and document requirements.
•         Document requirements through written specifications.
•         Ensure delivered code is developed up to established standards.
•         Perform user interviews and other data gathering
•         Suggest creative options for business solution and educate users on capabilities and use of current technology.  
Systems Design
• Design needed programs including files and database structures based on the business requirements.
• Utilize relational design principles and CASE design tools (e.g., Oracle Designer) when appropriate.
• Design user interfaces (input and output) to computer systems.
• Documents design through technical design specifications.
• Design and test system prototypes, review and present proposed system solutions for approval
• Design application security specifications
• Serves as a source of system design technical advice to less experienced staff 
 
Development and Implementation
•         Develop/code needed applications and programs based on the technical design specifications- primarily using Oracle Forms and PL/SQL technologies.
•         Work with team members to develop program units that integrate seamlessly into the overall system
•         Perform code reviews
•         Serves as a source of programming technical advice.
•         Ensures compliance to IT standards by following production, productivity, quality, guidelines. 
 
Other Duties
•         24x7 on-call production support.
•         Perform applications server administration
•         Identifies work process improvements 
 
 
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor degree in computer-related field or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of 5 years  computer programming experience or 3 years relevant computer programming experience with post-graduate degree.
 
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
• Knowledge of the mortgage insurance industry is desirable
• Knowledge of the project management and time management principles
• Ability to execute effective planning and organization techniques
• Ability to work with vendors and business partners
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good Communication skills- oral and written
• RDBMS skills : Oracle, SQL Server, and Access
• Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms/Reports,
• Experience Workflow, XML Publisher and Unix Scripting skills preferred
• Demonstrated technical proficiency working with web-based technologies including C#,.Net, and/or Java desirable
Special Requirements:
• PC operating systems and system tools skills (e.g. UNIX-HP, Linux, Windows platform, Visual Basic, Mercator, VMWare).
• Ability to use configuration management (e.g., TFS, PVCS) and job scheduling (e.g., AppWorx) tools.
• CASE and/or design tools skills a plus.
