The Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team.
Scope:
The programmer will primarily be assigned the following activities and projects:
Develop new business applications that are small in scope and require little specific knowledge of the court's business processes using Visual Studio 2010/.Net .
Convert legacy business applications (primarily VB6) to .Net with little or no changes to the business process.
Assist court programmers with development of new, larger scale business applications using defined application specifications.
Gather reporting requirements and develop reports using SSRS/SQL 2008
The Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team. Programmers typically are involved in maintenance (including production support), enhancement and development work. Programmers have a range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the Application Team. The Programmer works with the Functional Architect and Technical Architecture Specialist on an as needed basis to ensure that design and code meets customer requirements.
Years of Relevant Experience:6 to 7 years
Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study.
Role Description:
Plan all required process steps.
Review and understand the Application Team’s workplan.
Provide status of work to Team Lead.
Anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues and risks affecting own work and work of the Application Team. Develop contingency plans as necessary.
Engage in ongoing process improvement.
Detailed functional and process knowledge.
Utilize deep modeling, design and coding skills.
Provide expertise in one or more database environments.
Required / Desired Skills:
Visual Studio experience, current experience with 2010, familiarity in previous Visual Studio versions (e.g. 2005 & 2008) Required 5 Years
Experienced with C# language, and familiarity with Visual Basic 6 Required 3 Years
Experienced with ASP.Net and Windows applications Highly desired 5 Years
SQL Server Reporting Services (report design and creation) experience Required 3 Years
T-SQL, specifically creating stored procedures experience Required 3 Years
Legacy application conversions (VB6 to .Net) experience/familiarity Required 3 Years
Integration of MS Office within applications Required 5 Years
