Project Manager with Portfolio Exp 18 Month Contract Positions Springfield, MA Need some seasoned individuals who have experience in providing oversight of technology project portfolios including: - leading the demand management process - performing portfolio health and performance reporting - managing portfolio costs and benefits - facilitating enterprise governance of capital investments. There is an immediate assignment to work on a team that was just assembled to gather data and report findings to senior leadership for projects in our U.S. Insurance Group, Corporate and Enterprise Technology Portfolios (approximately $225M of annual discretionary investment spread over 21 local portfolios) to understand areas of contention, gaps, dependencies and priorities). This information will be used to understand impact to our Production Services team, resolve resource contention and gaps, clarify priorities, manage project dependencies and sequencing. "Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. 8-10 years of experience with all aspects of project management practice. PMP certification desired. Responsibilities: (Manage Large Scale Projects) Responsible for project success and day-to-day project execution. Coordinates project life cycle tasks from definition through post implementation. Responsible for project scope definition and change control management. Ensures creation, identification, prioritization and sign off of business requirements. Assures project planning and financial monitoring - coordination of cost estimates; resource planning and management, identification of and securing of resources. Decides on methodology for modifications, conversion and implementation. Facilitates project communication including risks, issues and deviations from plan. Confirms achievement of objectives, verifies and documents project results to formalize acceptance by the sponsor. Coordinates production, post implementation tasks, and project review/“lessons learned”. Ensures proper transition to production support team and impacted business areas.
