*Position : SCM Admin/Build Release Engineer * *Location : Richfield, MN* *Duration : 6+ Months * *Job Description :* *Skill1 - Rational Clear Quest (L2) * Planning and implementing defect and change request tracking processes--customizing Rational Clear Quest to facilitate these operations-- administering the Clear Quest system *Skill2 - SCM Tool Admin (L3) * Develop SOPs and Best Practices to use across all the projects in SCM Tower. Architecting SCM solutions for specific customer needs. Problem Management through effective brainstorming and technical expertise. Large Enterprise wide rollout of SCM tools. Capacity planning and management. Automation of repetitive tasks thru scripting. Enforce policy thru triggers, utilities, etc. Contribution to Tower as SME. Provide consultancy for all aspects of Software Configuration Management & Defect Management. Knowledge sharing sessions with SCM Tower people. Plus all the responsibilities of L3. Evaluation of new releases and suggesting to the projects. Play a lead role of SCM expert to the organization. Making the best decisions and suggesting the SCM tool as per the project requirement. Work with the Project Manager to set the process and direct the team to work as per it. *Skill3 - SCM Build and Release (L3) * Setup Builds for current ew product releases. Attend bug scrubs. & posts patches. Troubleshoots Build failures. Does triage of build failures. Configures Project & RE Builds for new releases. Ensures that the RE Environment/Hardware matches the compatibility matrix. Analyzes build failures associated with RE issues and det where fixes/improvements can be made. Defines the improvements to RE processes. Work closely with Release Management team in determining the best approach to RE/SCM for the upcoming releases. Technically responsible for the quality & time lines of Patches & Builds. Is the point of escalation for customers when things do not go according to accepted SLAs. Coaches and mentors RE I and II employees.
