| Duties & Responsibilites : | This position is for a Server Engineer:
-The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, problem solver, eagerness to learn/grow and have Large Enterprise experience.
Experience needed with Server Design, Server Management, Storage Management, and Operating Systems Software Deployment.
-The candidate will need to work with the team to identify and evaluate technical solutions, clearly communicate constraints for design and implementation, lead efforts to build and deploy Server operating systems, Storage infrastructure, and ancillary software.
-The environment supports mission critical applications deployed on a variety of operating systems, some virtualized with VMware technologies (Red Hat Linux, and Windows)
- Design, configuration, and deployment of Server infrastructure
- Design, layout, allocation, and implementation of SAN/NAS based storage to virtual and physical infrastructure.
- Design, document, and implement solutions for providing various types of High Availability systems.
- Tools selection / Software Evaluation / Deploy new Technology
- Recommend and Implement any Server software maintenance, patching, and performance tuning to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Provide 2nd level support for incident resolution and root cause analysis
- Build, package, and implement Operating System Images and Ancillary software
- Work with infrastructure teams, application teams, and service -roviders to ensure solid designs and solutions to maintain secure and highly available systems.
- Deploy appropriate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
- Server and Storage capacity planning
- Implement and maintain a Configuration Management system to assure the audit compliance and adherence to Security policy and Disaster Recovery requirements for all servers in the infrastructure
- Understand and adherer to all applicable corporate policies and processes.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment while effectively prioritizing tasks
- Provide expertise and assistance for technical and design inquiries for routine and emergency operational matters.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong leadership communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner.
- 3-5 years experience in developing and implementing large scale, complex, highly available Infrastructure architected to support critical business applications.
- 2-3 years experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi) and vCenter technologies.
- 2-3 years experience with SAN and NAS Storage technologies.
- 2-3 years experience with Monitoring Tools
- 2-3 Years experience with Windows Server (2003 and 2008R2), and/or Red Hat Linux
- Availability for 24X7 on call support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AIX Operating Systems
- Experience with Cisco Network technology
- Experience with Active Directory,
- Experience with Cloud Computing (IaaS),
- Experience with Java, PowerShell script / coding abilities,
- Experience with Lync,
- Experience with standard networking protocols and services (SMTP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, CIFS, NFS)
- Experience with BlackBerry Enterprise Server
- Experience with Mobile Device Management
- Experience with VDI
- Experience with Exchange
- MSCE certification
- MCSA certification
