Direct Client: Phone/Skype Hire Location: Albany, NY Duration: 12+ months Rate: Open Responsibilities . Design, develop, test, document and implement Cognos 10 applications and including maintenance; . Perform data modeling, data analysis and business analysis; . Create various reports pertaining to different functional areas, e.g., revenue, inventory, techniques, etc.; . Work with Cognos 10 tools: report studio, framework manager, transformer, workspace advanced, analysis studio, query studio in designing and implementing complex reporting solutions; . Work with statistical software including SAS, SPSS; . Work according to the agile methodology; . Integrate activities with business and technical staff; . Create reports: List, Cross-tab, Drill through, Master-Detail, Cascading, Active, Performance Tuning, Dash board in Report Studio, and Scorecards in Metric Studio; . Create prompts, folders, calculated columns, joins and naming conventions; . Create various relational and DMR models in Framework Manager from different data sources and publish packages to Cognos Connection; . Implement Cognos 10 security in framework manager and Cognos Transformer cubes; . Provide Cognos 10 Administrator tasks such as Deployment, Scheduling of reports and create Group, Roles; . Develop database schemas: Star Schema and Snowflake Schema; . Use of SQL server; . Sset deadlines and manage multiple tasks, use strong leadership skills, be flexible in work schedules; and communicate effectively; . Train end users; . Establish project plan tasks and monitor progress; Skills Needed . At least 48 months experience with a large governmental organization which includes integrating business requirements with advanced technical knowledge related to the Cognos 10 platform, e.g., creating complex Cognos 10 reports and transitioning the reporting process to end users. . At least 6 months experience within a state taxation agency which includes integrating business requirements with advanced technical knowledge related to the Cognos 10 platform; e.g., creating complex Cognos 10 reports and transitioning the reporting process to end users. . At least 48 months experience with: . Cognos 10.1 and related tools, e.g., Report Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, Analysis Studio, Event Studio, Transformer, Power Play Web, Cognos Workspace Advanced, Logical and Physical Data Modeling, Star Schema, Snow-Flake Schema, Data Modeling, Erwin 4.0/3.5, Windows, UNIX, HTML, SQL, Java Scripts, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Directory Tool, Server Administrator Tool, Deployment Tool, Capabilities Tool, Schedule Management Tool . At least 60 months of IBM DB2 experience working with large databases. . At least 60 months experience of system analysis and design experience for a multi- tiered transactional systems. . At least 48 months experience with firms within the financial services industry, i.e., commercial banks, investment banks, savings banks, and insurance companies. .
