Responsibilities:

   - Platform migration of 11i (11.5.10.2) and database upgrade 10.2.0.5 to
   Linux environment
   - Full Applications (11i / R12) support, including Installation and
   Cloning of Applications, as well as System Administration and
   Troubleshooting, Backups, Refreshes and Non-Production Clones
   - Support core Oracle Databases 9i to 11g
   - Perform upgrade of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i to R12
   - Provide DBA support of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i and R12
   - Administration, Tuning Maintenance and patching of 11i and R12
   - Perform application and database tuning, performance monitoring and
   investigate/troubleshoot critical production/non-production issues
   - Provide day to day and project support for Oracle Applications. This
   includes but is not limited to: patch analysis and deployment, cloning and
   optimization
   - Design, development and testing of backup and recovery solutions using
   Oracle (RMAN) and Non-Oracle tools
   - Provides support to the application development personnel during
   database design and debugging.
   - Provides support to the end user customers to troubleshoot issues
   related to connections, performance etc.
   - Design, implement and maintain disaster recovery procedures to provide
   minimal to no data loss to business
   - Reviews and performs analysis on new or improved database tools,
   techniques
   - Maintains the database systems, reviews backups of the databases,
   applies patches and updates to the databases when appropriate
   - Performs installations, upgrades and patch management of the Oracle
   E-Business Suite environments
   - Maintains development, test, upgrade and other such needed
   environments for the databases and performs cloning procedures to keep the
   environments in sync from time to time
   - Analyzes database updates to determine the impact of applying these
   updates
   - Coordinates database installations, maintenance, upgrades, and
   acceptance testing with other support personnel
   - Design, configure, and resolve problems with the database or related
   applications
   - Administer Oracle database security across all databases and maintain
   financial audit requirements for Oracle RDBMS and E-Business Suite
   - Proactively monitor and perform health-check for the databases and
   E-Business Suite using Oracle Grid Control
   - Administration of system management procedures and standards
   - Experience in code migration, database change management and data
   management through the various stages of the development life cycle
   - Setup and maintain documentation and standards
   - Good communication skills with management, functional and development
   support teams, system administrators and vendor
   - Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
   - Daily interaction with off-shore team for warm hand-over of critical
   projects
   - Participate in on-call for production databases - daily maintenance,
   monitoring, problem resolution and internal customer/Dev support
   - Willing to learn and support other technologies (Oracle Knowledge,
   Informatica, Cognos etc.), application platforms (Tomcat, IIS, weblogic,
   JBOSS etc.) to provide end to end support of business systems


Qualifications:

   - At least 15 years’ Oracle DBA experience in administration of multiple
   databases within a complex production and support environment on UNIX/Linux
   platform
   - Minimum 10 years of Oracle E-Business suite experience
   - B.S. in computer science or related field, or equivalent.
   - Experience in Oracle 10g/11g RAC/ASM and GRID architecture,
   configuration and administration
   - Experience in Oracle E-Business suite – architecture, configuration,
   system administration and application administration
   - Working knowledge of Oracle DBA best practices
   - Experience in a 24x7 production environment
   - Experience in Capacity monitoring and management capabilities
   - Experience with various disaster recovery practices
   - Experience with multi-terabyte databases
   - Experience in advanced UNIX shell/Perl scripting
   - Expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system
   architecture and best practices
   - ITIL framework knowledge is desirable
   - Strong verbal and written communication skill
   - Highly motivated to solve problems efficiently.
   - Fast troubleshooting and resolution skills while working with shifting
   priorities.
   - Self-motivated and goal oriented, can work without little to no
   supervision
