Primary responsibility will be working with a large number of applications, focusing on consultancy, functional design and process alignment, utilizing advanced analysis and design concepts. Position involves significant customer contact related to the refinement of needs and design of functional requirements. Work will be performed under general direction of a Project Manager and Team Leader. Employee is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in the planning and organizing of work, the proficient completion of assignments, applying departmental policy, resolving routine and unusual problems, and modifying plans to meet unexpected situations. Employee is expected to perform almost all tasks with little supervision or guidance and work well with staff at all levels of the organization. *Primary responsibilities include: * *Application Consultancy* · Act as the in depth functional expert for applications exhibiting detailed application knowledge and high level business process knowledge; · Work closely with Business Consultants to provide application expertise in supporting the implementation and use of functional business domains and processes; · Advise (asked and unasked) and support customers in the implementation and use of the appointed applications; · Advise on make or buy decisions for functionality (customer build or standard packages); · Perform impact analysis (costs, risks) on application changes (large and small); · Provide a full range of consultancy to optimize application support and related processes; · Participate in projects as a consultant regarding the functionality of applications; · Assume a proactive role in sharing knowledge within across applications and other IT members. * Functional Application management* · Translate business requirements to application solutions; · Define and maintain functional application architecture; · Propose solutions within and act within the boundaries set by Enterprise Architecture and by Security and Compliance; · Define and maintain functional designs, functional application documentation and user interface descriptions for small changes and projects; · Define and maintain functional data models; · Manage the realization and implementation of releases and small changes, Plan and monitor progress, guide developers and keep all stakeholders informed; · Manage the relation with third parties at operational level; · Solve functional incidents and problems related to the use of applications; · Participate in operational customer meetings to align with business, increase support levels and prioritize small changes. · Manage customer expectations and continuously improve customer satisfaction; *Quality Assurance* · Assess and assure quality of application related products delivered to the customer (software and documentation); · Deliver test plans and reports on time, on budget and 'on quality'; · Define and maintain functional test cases; · Perform functional tests on application changes; · Support acceptance testing (esp. resolve functional questions); · Implement and secure methods, techniques and tooling for system testing; *Process Alignment* · Align processes within the Application Services Department; · Align processes of the Application Services Department with other departments, especially Business Consultancy and Service Desk; · Participate in and add value to process improvement initiatives; *Experience * · 8 + years of experience in the application profession and a few years in a consultancy role · Solid technical background with experience in Java development technologies (J2EE, XML, HTML, Java Frameworks) · Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and methodologies · Experience with object oriented analysis, design and development, data modelling, SQL and PL/SQL (Oracle preferred) · Strong project management, consulting, mentoring and coaching skills · Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse team environment · Excellent knowledge of customer and service oriented working · Excellent communication skills · Ability to integrate business needs with IT solutions, optimising current applications and functional architecture · Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deal with conflicting priorities *Education and Other Credentials: * · BA/BS or equivalent in Information Technology · MS or MBA *Best Regards,* Srinivas Tel: (201) 524 9600 Ext 125 Email: sriniva...@ustechsolutionsinc.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "American Vendor--IT Consulting" group.
