| Duties & Responsibilites : | Our client is looking for a Middleware Engineer to help setup and deploy environments for development while working on multiple projects.
Principal Responsibilities
· Strategic design, enhancement, for enterprise applications supporting trading and client services.
· Perform implementation, maintenance, remediation, and troubleshooting services for enterprise applications supporting trading and client services.
· Proactively integrate tactical strategic business initiatives with enterprise environment
· Guide the growth and strategic planning of the application infrastructure
· Develop standards and deployment methodologies
· Research, evaluate and test new technologies
· Propose, design, and implement enhancements and additions to current environment
· Develop application maintenance standards and procedures
· Prepare / Assist in preparing business cases and price cost estimates for Application Engineering projects
· Mentor fellow engineers on technical issues, standards and procedures
· Assist in the growth and strategic planning of the middleware technology solutions.
· Assist in managing continuous improvement of engineering, delivery, and operational practices
· Assist in developing in tech lifecycle strategy and procurement strategies.
· Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality/SLA, and optimize delivery.
· Generate project plans and subsequent progress reports (including appropriate size, timeframe, and technical requirements).
· Coordinate all required project resources for on-time/on-budget fulfillment of project goals
· Responsible for establishing procedures systems to mitigate risk.
· Assist in testing and monitoring systems changes implemented by the organization including changes to middleware and testing the implementation of the middleware.
· 3rd-level troubleshooting for enterprise applications supporting trading and client services.
· Perform implementation, maintenance, remediation, and troubleshooting services for enterprise applications supporting trading and client services
· Ensures compliance with established industry rules, regulations and best practices.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Required Skills:
· Java/J2EE/JEE application servers: WebSphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, or tcServer. Also spring.
· End-to-end understanding of systems development life cycle methodology
· Demonstrates a strong understanding product lifecycles as well as how technical systems work and interact
· Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of all critical Production Support processes
· Must possess excellent quantitative and analytical skills with practical application
· Middleware design and analysis
· Knowledge of computer/network systems infrastructure requirements and standards
Preferred Skills:
· Scripting experience with _javascript_, python, or server side scripts.
· Tibco EMS, ActiveMatrix Service Grid and Hawk
· Apache Web Server, IBM HTTP Server
