Duties & Responsibilites :

- This individual is responsible for technical leadership of the EDW production systems as well as setting direction for monitoring and maintaining the overall health of the EDW processing.
- The EDW processing encompasses the end to end processing of information from feed to EDW from source through delivery of BI reporting to business stakeholders.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Monitor health of the overall EDW process on a daily basis. This would include monitoring of the batch cycle load processes, population of the EDW, as well as population of EDW data to the data marts.
- Communicate identified issues, recommended solution approach, estimated time to resolution and status of resolution initiatives to IT Management.
- Facilitate timely resolution to all identified issues related to the EDW.
- Provide EDW thought leadership and technical expertise to the overall IT division.
- Provide thought leadership on implementation of workload management, active data warehousing and other leading edge technology concepts.
- Oversee and provide input to definition and regular review of the requirements for performance, capacity and scalability metrics for the EDW.
- Oversee and provide input to definition and regular review of appropriate Key Performance Indicators for the EDW.
- Establish and enforce appropriate reporting processes supporting visibility to the health of the EDW.
- Participate in architectural analysis and solutions.

Preferred Experience and Skills: -
- 7 – 10 years’ experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Business Intelligence (BI) environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing implementation process, from business requirements through logical modeling, physical database design, data sourcing and data transformation, data loading, SQL, Business Objects, database implementation and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated ability to inquisitively identify, digest and question issues that may seem out of the norm.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a dynamic fast paced environment.
- Excellent facilitation skills focusing on ability to concisely define a problem, identify potential solution options with corresponding pros and cons of each option.
- Ability to champion an issue, draw attention to the potential impacts and attain buy-in from involved parties in order to motivate and accelerate focus and resolution.
- Ability to work in a team environment and build strong working relationships at all levels within the division.
- Ability to drive issues through various teams and individuals, tracking activity to ensure active engagement through resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, self-start, and accept challenge positively.
- Experience with EDW database design and/or re-design from a performance and proficiency perspective.
- Experience in capacity planning/sizing and overall architecture of an EDW from an Infrastructure, Database, ETL and BI perspective.
- Experience with strategies to performance tune SQL including partitioning and indexing strategies; including the ability to collaborate directly with DBAs on implementation of the changes

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. Preferable emphasis on Data Warehouse curriculum or equivalent large-scale data warehousing expertise.
- Ability to independently and creatively solve complex technical problems.
- Deeply involved in state-of-the-art data warehousing technologies including relational and dimensional database design, business intelligence and analytical tools, and architectural strategies.
- Five years or more of operational or technical RDBMS experience in data warehouse implementation.
- Knowledge and experience with building Data Warehouses and Data Marts from a technical perspective.
- General SQL knowledge and understanding of relational databases.
- Teradata technical expertise
- Ability to articulate the benefits of detailed data in an EDW environment.
- Experience with Logical and Physical Data Modeling
- Experience with Physical Database Design and Performance Tuning.
- Availability for off hour support facilitation.

- SQL, Excel,ETL, Oracle Business Intelligence
- Communication for this opportunity is extremely important.  This consultant is going to be highly visible among end users and business representatives and if candidates do not have excellent communication skills they will not be submitted t the end client.
