Job Title: Solutions Architect
Location: Owings Mills, MD
Duration: Long term
*Description*:
Provide high-level design and technical oversight to teams in order to
deliver complex IT solutions to business problems. Should be strong in both
SOA principles as well as B2B integration patterns (batch, real-time, and
asynchronous). Candidate should have experience in designing complex
software systems that include multiple technologies including (but not
limited to):
* Business rules/business process engines,
* Relational databases,
* Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) technologies,
* HIPAA Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standard transactions
* Business Intelligence/Analytic reporting.
Candidate should also have strong understanding of health insurance
business functions involving:
* Health Plan Enrollment (both individual and group-based enrollment)
* Claims Adjudication
* Billing
* Financial reporting
*Responsibilities*:
* Lead technical team to develop high-level design (Solution Architecture
Package) for Corporate Initiatives
* Gain approval for high-level design from Carefirst's Solution Review Team
Board
* Oversee detailed design and development activities to ensure adherence to
standards and best practices
* Collaborate with project management, technology owner, and Enterprise
Architecture to adjust design as project evolves.
* Facilitate sessions to document options and gain agreement from
stakeholders for complex technical problems.
* Mentor others to develop technical skills and leadership ability
*Requirements*:
* Requires a Bachelors degree in computer science or related IT field or
equivalent work experience.
* Masters degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
* 5-7 years of experience in multiple IT areas and 2-3 years of relevant
architecture experience.
* Broad experience in project management execution of multiple enterprise
level, mid-sized projects; experience in participating in multidiscipline,
high-performance work teams/groups and demonstrated competency in
developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex
business problems.
* Broad experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of
large-scale systems.
* Prior specific experience in developing technical architectures.
* Broad knowledge of information systems, spanning at least two to four
component architectures.
* Experienced in translating business strategies, across several business
units, into effective solutions.
* Excellent knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.
* Good understanding of design patterns and their application at all levels
(conceptual, logical and physical).
* Experience in 2 or more of the following:
UML, SOA (including EA1 and B2B), Security,
Data/Informatics, business
Rule Engines/workflow
