Job Summary:
-We are looking for extremely Sr. level - 10-15 years of experience Engineers/Websphere Architects!
-Responsible for performing engineering activities required to support the Middleware and developer tool chain technologies and act as an interface between Development, Operations, Architecture, Engineering and technical stakeholders. Work with the development team to provide strategic support for middleware engineering solutions for business critical applications.
-Develop automation for continuous integration, rapid deployment, and continuous delivery. Work with the Operation team to hand off automated engineering tasks and resolve any business issues.
-Implement and support Middleware technology solutions to support various business needs. Participate in all phases of systems development life cycle to ensure consistent approaches in the technical design across projects/programs. Implement systems changes into production environment following change control methodology.
-Provide architectural guidance, strategic planning, and leadership in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex engineering solutions
-Integrate different approaches and methods, highly automate processes, and close monitoring gaps to constantly improve the working systems in ensuring high availability and cost effectiveness.
-Support application deployments, building new systems and upgrading and patching existing ones.
-Support Developer’s tool chain
-Leverage scripting and tools to automate deployment processes and integration processes for continuous delivery
-Use monitoring tools to detect problems, resolve, and escalate to meet SLA
-Work effectively in a cross-functional team; capable of receiving work direction from direct and indirect leadership.
-Collaborate with the developers in building development and test environments by assisting in configuration, scripting, and monitoring.
-Operate the platform within our security and privacy guidelines
-Create and maintain technical documentation on systems and applications to ensure efficient planning and execution of work.
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
-Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills
-Knowledge in Java based web application development or Java development experience
-A minimum of 7+ years experience working with web application servers like WebSphere Application Server, the runtime environment embedded in Rational Application Developer (RAD) software, Tomcat, or other open source application servers
-A minimum of 3 years Experience in automation tools or frameworks
-A minimum of 4 years experience with MQ or other messaging platforms
-A minimum of 4 years experience in IBM HTTP servers or other web servers
-A minimum of 4 years experience in deployment automation, continuous integration, and scripting
-A minimum of 4 years experience working on Windows/Unix/Linux operating systems
-Working experience in developer tools and methodologies
-Working experience with monitoring technologies
-Understanding of protocols/technologies like HTTP, SSL, LDAP, JDBC, Servlet/JSP, SQL, HTML, XML
-Application clustering and load balancing concept and technologies
-Application performance tuning and troubleshooting
-Solid background in web technologies and knowledge of application integrations
-Experience implementing IT infrastructure or applications
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with WebSEAL or other identity management system is a plus
-An application developer background is preferred
