Role: Cognos BI developer Location: Brooklyn, NY Duration: Above 24 months Need only GC/USC/EAD GC The consultant requires strong analytical and architectural skills with emphasis on generating reporting solutions to business problems and the primary responsibility will include design; develop; implement; and maintain Business Intelligence reports and applications using Cognos version 10 Business Intelligence tools. This will entail: • Participation in requirement meetings with end-users to understand and collect Business Intelligence (BI) report and Web content needs. • Document functional and technical specifications; • Develop BI analytical and reporting solutions based on user needs. • Develop and maintain interfaces using Cognos SDK. • Develop SQL queries & stored procedures. • Collaborate with other groups to design and develop new enterprise reporting solutions. • Tune the supporting queries and report build processes to improve end-user access response times. • Design, document and deploy the front-end components of analytical applications. • Assist in the rollout, maintenance and ongoing administration of these applications. • These activities will encompass all project life cycle phases including production support (24/7, if necessary) and documentation of all tasks in accordance with Department of Education standards. The minimum core competencies required are: • 8+ years of Senior Level COGNOS Development experience. • Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities. • Solid Interpersonal Skills. • Cognos BI Skills: • Experience with Cognos 10.2 and above • Cognos Framework Manager • COGNOS Event Studio • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cognos and be able to translate user requirements into complex Framework Manager Models, reports, and dashboards. • COGNOS Version upgrade experience. • Experience in DMR Modelling, creating cubes and dimentional reporting. • Experience in Administration of Cognos 10.2 BI. • Support of Development of a Report Template Library. • Ability to transform functional requirements into reports . • Knowledge of data and data manipulation techniques . • Ability to create reports which are reusable across multiple disciplines .
