*Job Title: IT - Systems Engineer Senior*
*Work Location: Irvine CA*


*Job Description:* The Sr Systems Engineer will provide day-to-day
operational support of the environment including: new system delivery,
change requests, proactive availability and performance monitoring,
preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and the resolution of system
issues. The ideal candidate will have engineering experience with both
Windows based systems and virtual server environments running on top of
VMware vSphere. Candidates must have strong communication skills, and the
desire to work in a fast paced environment.

*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
Describe the essential functions for which the Job is accountable.
Essential Functions are those which are specific and unique to this
position and when removed changes the nature of the job itself.

•       The Sr Systems Engineer will provide support for environment
including new system delivery, change requests, proactive availability and
performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and the
resolution of system issues.
•       Manage and maintain VMware 5.1 / 5.5 environment using existing
tools such vCOPs, SRM and vCM,
•       Maintain and manage UCS/Dell Servers, NOS, Security and system
patches on all Windows servers.
•       Maintaining and ensuring the Tickets Queue are being properly
addressed in a timely manner.
•       Provide escalation technical support and issues resolution of
Windows-based servers and virtual environment
•       Ensure team is following best practice for software packages and
modifications via SCCM, login scripts, or GPO.
•       Act as the Point of Contact for Wintel/Virtualization Team where
the Sr Systems Engineer will represent Wintel/Virtualization Team in
meetings
•       Produce and maintain procedural documentation throughout the
lifecycle of the system
•       Drive product assessments and POC initiatives
•       Participate in Change Management and Problem Management calls.
•       Train offshore teams on operations’ support procedures, evaluate
their performance and take corrective actions.
•       Drive automation by utilizing scripts and tools to automate
procedural tasks
•       Participate in on-call support rotation for problem analysis and
resolution.
•       Undertake other tasks as directed by Management

       Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course
work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is
preferred.  Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience &
education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions
of this job.

List any special certifications, licenses, and/or knowledge requirements
for this job:
       MCSE, MCP, VCP, and CCA certifications are preferred.
