*Position: Hadoop AdminLocation: Thousand Oaks, CADuration: 6+MonthsJob Description* *Must-Have* At least 3 years of Hands-on experience in any BigData project as Hadoop Administrator. Should have strong technical knowledge on cluster design and management including trouble shooting and performance. Should be conversant with MapReduce, Spark, Impala and performance management in AWS environment *Good-to-Have Hands on experience in Hadoop Ecosystem technology stack. Certification in Hadoop administration in any distribution.* *Tasks* • Job Monitoring using Cloudera Manager • AWS Service (S3, Cloud Front) • Identify the problematic jobs (like: long running jobs / failed jobs / small files etc.) and find out the solution • Automation of job monitoring activities • Reprocessing of failed jobs • Creation of jobs using Oozie and shell script, bash and python • Security management using Kerberos • In-depth knowledge of Hive, Impala, Sqoop to improve the job performance • Knowledge of Kafka and Spark to ingest real time feed • Knowledge of R, SAS, Stata • Nice to have knowledge of Spot-fire, Achilles • Good knowledge of Shell script and Python *Knowledge* • Extraction, transformation and load • Data Integration • Reporting *Skills* • Exposure to different big data technologies like: Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Oozie, Spark, Kafka • Effective Communication • Ability to independently manage/prioritise assigned activities • Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends and holidays *Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role* 1 Ability to manage 100+ nodes clusters in terms of cluster health and performance. 2 Ability to drive and deliver with a team of 8-10 associates Should be able to impart training internally in Hadoop Administration 3 Strong customer-centric communication 4 Should conversant with the administration of Big data platform in Cloud.
