*Position: MySQL Database AdminLocation: San Jose, CADuration: 6-12 monthsJob Description:* *Essential Skills* · Good knowledge on RDBMS concepts · Extensive experience with MySQL versions 5.5 and 5.6. Experience in MySQL 5.7 is an added advantage · Experience with MySQL RPM Installations, installing multiple instances on same host, along with the good administration experience with multiple instances in a single server · Experience with Backup and restorations - Both Physical and Logical backups along with the point in time recovery knowledge · Experience with MySQL Enterprise Backup tool (MEB) and MySQL Enterprise Monitor (MEM) tool is necessary · Good experience in performing DDL and DML changes to the Production database · Good knowledge on Shell scripts is necessary · Good knowledge on MySQL Utilities like Fabric is recommended · Good verbal and communication skills, along with being a good team player is necessary *Desirable Skills:* · Manage and maintain MongoDB servers across multiple environments Design & implement development teams on sharding and indexing strategies Monitor deployments for capacity and performance Implement and maintain MMS (MongoDB Management Services) · Define and implement backup strategies per data retention requirements Admin MongoDB to achieve 100% monthly availability · Solve production DB problems when needed 24x7 Develop and document best practices for data migration 8:13 AM · Experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding etc. · Minimum of 3+ years' experience working with large distributed database systems with focus on performance & tuning. · Must know DB performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices knowledge of and experience with NoSQL Data Modeling · Able to write Unix/Linux shell scripts. Relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar technical discipline. · Knowledge-hungry with the desire to learn new database technologies and must be able to work independently or within a team in a high demand, fast paced and dynamic environment. · Prior experience in a company developing Financial, Banking or similar type applications · Be able to work with a diverse group of personalities.
