DIVISIONAL OVERVIEW


The IT Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) is responsible for managing
Credit Suisse's Technology Infrastructure, including network, data centers,
servers, storage, mainframe and desktops.  

 

DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW


The Americas RDO department is responsible for infrastructure deployment and
operations across all CS offices in North, Central and South Americas. The
Raleigh regional services team is responsible for supporting the day to day
operations of Server, Web and Database technology infrastructure across
Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific as a Global Service.  The RDO department
is client aligned to Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, Prime Services and
Shared Services.  We provide or clients in the Investment bank with a single
point of contact for infrastructure requirements, and create and maintain
transparency of the services we deliver.

 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE


The DBA is responsible for support and maintenance of the Oracle systems and
be accountable for the troubleshooting and resolution of all the support
issues/requests.  The primary focus of this role is change, configuration
and support for dev/UAT and production.

 

Responsibilities Include: 

*       Provide day to day second level technical and developer support for
critical business and trading systems
*       Assume primary ownership for the development requests submitted and
work with the application teams to completion
*       Demonstrated ability as in Oracle 9i, 10G and RAC and demonstrate
the ability to understand more advance features like Oracle streams,
flashback and standby databases.
*       Evaluate and recommend solutions to users encountering issues or for
requests submitted
*       Manage technical projects that support key initiatives within the
firm
*       Ability to work alone against deadlines
*       Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

1-3 years experience in Oracle DBA administration

Experience in financial industry

Working knowledge of MS SQL DBA administration

 

 

TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

*       Oracle 9i, 10G and RAC
*       Knowledge of Unix (Solaris) and Linux
*       Basic Unix commands

*       Very good working knowledge of MS SQL server
*       Experience with Oracle Grid
*       Shell scripting
