JobTitle : Application Development Manager Location : Columbia, MD Duration : 10+ month Contract Rate : Open Duties & Responsibilities: Lead developers responsible for the application development of software, as well as the support and maintenance of the existing retail web sites, API software, and back end java services. Work with application development management and staff to ensure adequate, proactive involvement of application development across the enterprise. Manage the app development deliverables for projects, provides status reports and tracks development issues and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle. The Application Development Manager works to deliver project results and value to the business and its clients. The Application Development Manager demonstrates knowledge of all phases of software development life cycle and various techniques for creating a high value quality assurance team. Responsibilities include system availability, software quality, and timeliness of deliveries, implementation management, system performance, and capacity. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure Application Development staff is engaged throughout software development lifecycle. Escalate and work through various technical issue related to projects and help coordinate with other outside technical areas where applicable. Ensure project teams are staffed with appropriate resources . Manage the relationship with project managers, business partners and QA teams. Coordination/ synchronization of our releases with release coordinator o Tracking production issues, scheduling fixes, and reporting on open issues. Project issue resolution and escalation o Communications & status reporting o Deliverable Management o Scope Management Required Skills: *Application Development management experience - 5+ years leading IT organizations in a fast-paced application development environment.* *Experience managing teams of 8+ staff* *Project management experience* *Experience in the brokerage industry/financial background experience is a plus. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required for interactions across organization * *Ability to handle multiple priorities * *Experience in presenting to senior management o Ability to work with distributed geographic teams* # of Years Required: *5+ years management experience including project and people management.* Preferred Skills: MS Project, Change Point, Sharepoint, Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies; hands on experience with web metrics and analytics tools a plus Required Education: 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field.
