Need: SQL DBA
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Duration: 6+ months
Rate: $40 hr
CANDIDATES NEED TO HAVE BOTH SQL & ORACLE DBA EXPERIENCE IN THEIR BACKGROUND
- MOSTLY SQL DBA EXPERIENCE
Responsible for the projects, enhancements, administration of transactional
and analytical data constructs/structures. Included within those
responsibilities are the areas of data access (security) and delivery
technologies which includes SQL Server and Oracle. Duties include
performance tuning, monitoring, software installs, automation solutions,
upgrades, UNIX shell scripting, PERL scripting, physical and logical
database design. Some SQL Server and Oracle databases are very large, with
a varying size of 500 GB and highly active. Familiarity with ETL Tools like
DTS, SSIS, Datapump, SQL Loader, etc is essential. Familiarity with Web
Applications with respect to IIS and Reporting servers
Hands on experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, performance
troubleshooting, understanding of SAN storage, Network or higher version.
Hands on experience with Access DB and Excel.
Work Experience 5+ years
Detailed knowledge of SQL server architecture essential
Working knowledge of windows 2003 or higher and network environment
preferable
Financial Services Experience 3+ years Experience
Knowledge of other SQL Server backups, Clusters, SRDF
Works independently
Familiarity with other data bases, ETL tools, web applications and or other
programming languages
COF Experience - Desired but not required
ETL experience in implementation and design
Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels (Executive
Sponsors to team members).
