Position: Senior Portal Developer

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 8-9Months

Rate: $45/hr

 

 

Mandatory Requirements:

*       A minimum of 4 years of experience in Java development for
large-scale enterprise systems; 
*       Experience in development and implementation of large-scale
enterprise internet/intranet J2EE systems. 
*       At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Spring and Hibernate
*       Excellent oral and written communication skills are required; 
*       Solid knowledge of testing tools and techniques;
*       Practical knowledge of commercial portals (preferably Vignette) and
at least 3 years of hands-on experience of portal application development
using JSR-168 portlets
*       Hands on experience with Oracle database;
*       Strong experience working with WebLogic or other enterprise
application servers.
*       Strong knowledge of SQL and database design; 
*       Strong knowledge of object-oriented methodology 
*       Knowledge of MQ client / JMS API
*       Experience working with the following technologies: 

*       Commercial Application Portal (preferably Vignette) 
*       Oracle
*       SQL
*       BEA WebLogic 
*       UNIX 
*       JSP/Servlets 
*       Hibernate 
*       XML/XSL 

 

 

Desirable Experience:

Experience working on government technology projects with the City of New
York is preferable. Experience with search technologies and search
implementation is beneficial as well.

*       Experience with Interwoven TeamSite or other Content Management
System
*       Experience with data integration systems.
*       A Bachelors or Masters degree in MIS, Computer Science, or
equivalent experience is desired;

 

 

Job Description:

DCLA Phase 2 Project is to improve the Department of Cultural Affairs
(DCLAs) ability to support internal work processes related to management of
grant funding processes, relationships with grant recipients, and capital
projects, as well as research and analysis of the field as a whole and in
segments.

 

The goal of the DCLA CMPS System is to improve the Department of Cultural
Affairs (DCLAs) ability to support internal work processes related to
management of grant funding processes, relationships with grant recipients,
and capital projects, as well as research and analysis of the field as a
whole and in segments.

 

Project will be deployed in at least two releases. The first release is
needed by 1/15/2010 and will consist of enhancements needed for the CDF
filing period.

 

We require Sr. Portal Developer with the following responsibilities:

*       Participate in development of systems design; this includes
specifying the component packaged and custom applications, class diagrams,
sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, etc.
*       Communicating risks and issues to project management
*       Coding and designing application
*       Using best practices for development 
*       Perform unit testing and fixes during testing Phase
*       Create/document deployment procedures
*       Create/document operational procedures

 

The resource will be responsible for the following deliverables:

*       All documentation regarding system design 

*       Detailed System Architecture Diagram
*       Data-flow Diagram
*       Class Diagrams
*       Activity and State Diagrams
*       Component Diagrams
*       Deployment Diagrams
*       Configurations

*       Build and unit tested modules for the system 
*       Use cases and misuse cases for handoff to QA team
