Oracle DBA Needed

Position Description:
Experience Level: 4 year degree in IT or related field and 8+ years related
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Looking for highly skilled Senior Oracle DBA to support Production
databases in ISG/PSG:
Manage all primary on-call DBA activities such as checking on table
space problems, checking for fragmentation, checking on nightly/weekly
backup problems, responding to any Oracle errors, and deadlock conditions
Provide expect Oracle technical input and support for database upgrade
projects and implement these game plans for the upgrades
Set up, configure and maintain the data replication tools such as
Oracle streams and AQ. (Prior experiance with Oracle's GoldenGate
replication is a plus)
Set up, configure and maintain the physical standby databases with
Data Guard for switch and failover scenarios
Work closely with development DBA teams on trouble-shooting SQL issues
impacting database performance and uptime SLAs
Produce detailed game plans for monthly or quarterly database
partition maintenance tasks
Design and implement High Availability (HA) solutions using Real
Application Clusters (RAC) using Automatic Storage MAnager (ASM).
Produce the game plans and also write the scripts to perform regular
DB reorganizations and SAN space reclamation
Design, and implement database backup/restore infrastructure using
Oracle RMAN, Sun/Hitachi Shadow Copy technology, and Netbackup tools
Clone database data from production into Staging and PTE environments
on demand from Project teams
Gather production database growth numbers and prepare DB growth
projections by working in close partnership with Development and
Architecture teams
Work closely with Oracle tech support by creating problem tickets to
Oracle internal issues detected in production databases. Download, test and
apply patches suggested by Oracle to resolve those issues
Help PSG apply yearly server-level PQC/Firmware patching and Oracle
database CPU patching on all production DB servers by creating and
implementing database switch-over and switch-back game plan instructions
Create, maintain, control, and audit user access to production
databases by creating profiles with resource limits, password complexity and
expiration policies. Perform periodic review of users and their current
privileges with Development managers and platform owners
Work closely with Development and Architecture teams to perform
production database capacity planning tasks.
Maintain, enhance, and monitor the Retail Internet Environment through
various customized tools such as:
Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control (OEM GC) for monitoring
producrion Oracle databases
AlarmPoint for monitoring alerts
HP Open View for Oracle (OVO)
Linborg
OS/DB level diagnostics on linborg
DB server side scripts using shell scripts, Perl scripting
