Sr. UNIX Administrator
Location can be either Phoenix, Minneapolis, Charlotte or St Louis.

Description
Build and Support is looking for a Sr. UNIX Administrator who will be
responsible for audit baseline remediation activities on Red Hat Linux, AIX,
and Sun Solaris Systems. This will include working closely with project
managers to remediate issues, run compliance and operational readiness
scripts. Candidate must posses a strong knowledge of the above listed
operating systems, and has excellent skills with at least UNIX shell
scripting and preferably shell and Perl. Candidate must possess solid
analytical, technical, written and oral communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
§ Create scripts in Perl and UNIX shell.
§ Read and locate issues with existing scripts to eliminate false
positives.
§ Create documentation concerning issues which require remediation.
§ Work closely with project managers and business managers to open changes
and remediate issues.
§ Versatility is key measure to the success of this position. Demonstrable
versatility between flavors of UNIX/Linux mentioned above will be a plus.
Additionally, candidates with versatility in the areas of Storage
Management, Performance Management (or) Database management will succeed in
this position.
§ The candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand the business and
the application. Candidates who have done work engineering solutions for the
business will be successful in this position.
Skill Requirements
§ At least 7 years of experience administering, monitoring and managing
Solaris (8/9/10), AIX 5/6 and Red-HAT environments.
§ 6+ years of experience troubleshooting and tuning Linux systems down to
the kernel level.
§ Over 7 years of experience automating activities using Perl and Shell
scripting is a necessity.
§ Knowledge of HPSA (OpsWare) is helpful
§ Demonstrable skills writing best-practice documentation and solution
documents are a necessity.
§ Demonstrable leadership skills such as managing time, managing meetings
and verbal communication skills are a must.
