*Sr. Java Developer/Architect* *4 Month Contract* *St. Paul, MN* *Responsibilities* - Working with each project team, update the Java software development kit (SDK) build and runtime version and web application server for two critical systems to current software versions. - The two critical systems are the Student ID System and the SERVS - Update the J2EE container authentication functionality of these systems to meet new security requirements. Implement website rebranding changes to each system to meet new branding requirements. - This project will extend the overall lifetime of these systems and remediate security vulnerabilities caused by legacy software versions which are out of support and no longer receiving patches. - *SERVS Financial Updates:* 1. Update the Java SDK build and runtime versions. This may require upgrading Java framework and library dependencies (including Java Server Faces, Seam, RichFaces, and Hibernate) and includes fixing code issues related to the Java update. 2. Migrate each SERVS Financial module from JBoss AS to a new J2EE-enabled Java application server. SERVS Financial back-end services require an EJB container. 3. Update the J2EE container authentication to work with the new Java application server and to integrate with new MDE security system infrastructure. 4. Update the user interface logo, banner, colors, and fonts to use new website branding resources from the website rebranding project. 5. Complete preliminary testing and handoff for quality assurance and user acceptance testing. 6. Implement and test bug fixes and/or enhancements to SERVS Financial as assigned. - *Student ID System Updates:* 1. Update the Java SDK build and runtime versions.
