Short Description: Oracle Application DBA - Onsite in Rochester MN

Complete Description: Oracle Application DBA (AppDBA) Responsibilities:


1) Controls migrations of scripts, stored procedures, schema changes,
reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.

2) Works closely with the data architect to ensure data definition fit
within Client.

3) Provides technical support to application development teams.

4) Enforces and maintains schema constraints to ensure data integrity.

5) Administers all schema objects, including tables, clusters, indexes,
views, sequences, packages and procedures.

6) Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the schema objects.

7) The AppDBA is responsible for monitoring and optimizing the performance
of the application within the schema and offering assistance to developers
in optimizing their applications, queries, etc. Works with the SysDBA in
tuning database/instance.

8) The AppDBA is responsible for the batch loading of data into official
production ORACLE tables from approved data files, etc. given by development
staff of vendors of applications. The AppDBA will ensure that the data
loaded into ORACLE tables is as accurate as the data source. The AppDBA IS
responsible for the data exception-handling process.

9) The AppDBA will propagate data from test/development to production in a
controlled process.

10) Writes packages, plsql, scripts

11) Understands Cursors and performance tuning

12) Understands Oracle session locks and caching
