I am in need of a Perl Developer for a 9 month contract in Owings Mills. H-1b is fine as long as they have good communication skills. Phone interview followed by a face to face interview. 40/hr. Must-haves - Programming in PHP, PERL, Expect, TCL, SQL, XML, and/ or HTML - Database adminstration (in SQL or Oracle); daily maintenance of the database--performance tuning - Working knowledge of Open Source tools and protocols; Open source software — software whose source code is published and made available to the public, enabling anyone to copy, modify and redistribute the source code without paying royalties or fees. Open source code evolves through community cooperation. These communities are composed of individual programmers as well as very large companies. Examples of open-source software products are: - Windows Office Tools -GREAT communication skills! This person will be part of the Enterprise Storage group, who is accountable for the management, monitoring, and configuration of all storage resources used across the firm glolly. They are on-call 7 x 24. This person may be on call sometimes. Plusses - System administration (Windows and/or UNIX) - Experience with storage hardware (disk arrays, NAS, etc,), SAN switches (McData, Cisco, Brocade, etc.) - Familiarity with storage management software, storage protocols (FCIP, iSCSI, fibre channel, etc.), and HBAs (Emulex, qLogic, etc.) Day-to-Day The programmer being brought on will be re-writing internally developed applications and their back-end databases to accommodate changes presented to by the new DR environment, changes in the approach to storage virtualization, and changes to the hardware platforms themselves. These applications have been developed internally, are complex, and are crucial to the day-to-day operation of the storage environment. The candidate will need to update these applications, document the code, and extend the code to accommodate additional features.
