Title: Data Modeler Location: Brooklyn, NY Duration: 12 months Client: NYC Department of Education Hours Per Week: 35 *Assignment Description* Under the direction of the Director of Data Architecture and Enterprise Reporting, serves as an expert Data Modeler overseeing the design of operational data models and reporting data models. Works with ETL team and business analysts to define and convert requirements to data models. Performs data analysis, data profiling and data mappings. Creates data dictionary and model documentation. The Data Modeler collaborates with business units and data owners to successfully implement and maintain application data models and interface data models. Translates business requirements from across the Department of Education into data design requirements and subsequent data models. * * *Duties and Responsibilities:* · Build conceptual, logical and physical ODS, MDM and DW data models. · Is an in-house expert at modeling ODS, MDM and DW both real-time and batch. · Defines, and implements and enforces all data modeling standards and documentation. · Routinely responsible for leading data models review sessions · Contributes to developing transparent and well understood enterprise data modeling processes, rules and technologies to support them. · Ensures that operational and analytical data warehouses are able to support all business requirements for internal and external applications and reporting across the organization. · Displays demonstrated abilities in communicating the overall data architecture to both technical and business constituencies. · Develops guidelines and best practices to ensure data standardization and consistency. · Supports the design of data handling and cleansing, and standardization procedures and business transformation rules and logic. *Minimum Core Competencies:* · Must be an expert data modeler · 8 years of satisfactory full-time programmer analysis experience with at least 5 years as a specialist in data modeling · At least 2 enterprise level data model projects.
