*Duration: 5 months contract*
*Job Description:*
Client is bringing in a vendor to complete an application development
project that was started internally. For unknown reasons, they are now
turning to a vendor to complete the app dev and deliver the project. The
system consists of 4 main modules. The project will require completion of
the standard software development life cycle phases, but certain modules are
further along in these phases than others. The team will have to evaluate
what client has completed to this date, and complete the remaining work.
The majority of work will require development, testing and implementation,
but one of the modules will also require design work.
*Core responsibilities include:*
- Design, develop, and test BusinessObjects universe and report solutions
- Expert with Business Objects XI toolsets, including Designer,
Rich-client, and WebIntelligence
- Work with business users and developers to gather and refine
requirements for reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc query environments
- Collaborate with DBA/developers to develop effective data models and
universe designs.
- Participate in the complete development lifecycle, including analysis,
design, build, and test.
- Some programming experience with JAVA/J2EE (or Javascript)
*Other responsibilities depending on individual selected:*
- Provides technical collaboration regarding database design and
development
- Participates in the assessment and validation of all existing database
structures, identifying the tasks that need to be completed and developing
an approach to organize team efforts to complete the databases and the data
migration efforts
- Participates in database design and construction work efforts
- Design and development of all logical data models and physical
databases
- Design and development of all data migration and conversion scripts,
interim databases and transfer and load schemes
- Develops and implements database backup and recovery procedures
- Monitors and tunes the performance of databases, as needed
- Reports status, progress, and issues to Project Manner in a timely
manner
- Maintains database security
- Performs database capacity analysis
- Monitors version control between database instances
- Design and create data test beds for test cycles
- Designs and creates BusinessObjects universes
- Validates completeness and correctness of converted data
- Definition and authorship of all database documentation
- Facilitates knowledge transfer of all database-related material between
the team and client
*Basic Qualifications:*
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Computer Science or Engineering
- Familiar with materialized views, PL/SQL stored procedures, triggers
and functions
*Strong hands-on experience with the following or equivalent technologies: *
• Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.x
• Web Intelligence and Universe
• Business Objects Universe design
*Experience with JAVA/J2EE, Javascript is required*
*Desired:*
- Client’s IBEAM architecture experience strongly desired
- experience with Business Objects XI
