Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience 5 years experience developing large database systems including significant experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and scripting Several years experience with database design, ETL processes, and data warehousing Thorough understanding of database modeling approaches, including “tall-and-skinny” (EAV) model. Ability to work independently and develop projects in an agile fashion – starting from high-level requirements and refining in close interaction with customers, through short and productive development cycles Experience supporting application developers building data-driven applications Deep and practical understanding of database development and traditional and agile project management methodologies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Postgres) a plus Any experience with scientific or drug discovery database or database applications development a plus *Data Engineering Culture *Blend of driving operational maturity across an organization of very diverse and talented people without inhibiting innovation, creativity, and feature velocity Team members need to be able accept responsibility for a large number of initiatives while maintaining sufficient focus to drive each to completion Team members need to work effortlessly across organizations and across functional disciplines.
