Commonwealth of VA. Position could be converted to fulltime position within
two months, however, fulltime employment is not guaranteed. Fulltime salary
range 41-46K with state benefits

Telecommunications Services provides state-of-the-art telecommunications
technology (voice and data communications services and equipment) to the
entire University and VCUHS community as well as University resident
students. Telecommunications Services generates more than $9 million in
revenue annually.



Maintain/support and troubleshoot applications integrated with
Telecommunications Services operation of the Avaya S87XX switches, Modular
Messaging, and adjunct servers/systems. Assist in the planning, design,
implementation, and/or enhancement of new services and technologies for the
University and VCUHS.



-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty and staff to provide
technical support for telecommunications services.

-Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively
communicate complex information to non-technical audiences.

-Working knowledge of Windows, Oracle or SQL databases.

-Outstanding customer service skills.

-Excellent written and oral communications skills.

-Strong organizational skills.

-Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple tasks with the ability
to work in a diverse work environment.

-Ability to demonstrate proficiency in spreadsheet, database, email, and
word processing applications; working knowledge of Microsoft applications
and Google Mail preferred.

-Ability to work successfully in teams and independently.
