*Role: *The Configuration Analyst manages and maintains the Configuration Management System and Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and oversees and performs CMDB data quality verification. The Configuration Analyst is expert in the working of the Configuration Management system and as such may be called upon by other roles for assistance and mentoring with system issues. *Major Responsibilities: *Ensures CI owners maintain adequate configuration management process disciplines and systems. Ensures authorized Configuration Management procedures and work practices are followed. Coordinates scheduling of CMDB audits and data quality validations. Scores the CMDB audits and reports audit findings.. Assists to ensure CI’s are accurately registered. Supports ITIL processes and related/established organizations to ensure the effective use of the CMDB. Maintains and recommends improvements to facilitate effective use and integrity of the CMDB. Provides input into important decisions regarding Configuration Management supporting technology requirements. Participates in definition, documentation, and maintenance of Configuration Management Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, and Job Aids. Participates in Change Advisory Board meetings to ensure CI’s are related and updated accurately. Maintains his/her individual knowledge, skill level and performance on the ConfigurationManagement process and enabling technology. Produces process maps, data models, data flows, training materials, user manuals, and other process documentation as required. Proactively builds working relationships with I/T and Business partners to identify opportunities to improve the Configuration Management process.
