Location : Houston TX
Contract : One Year + Extensions (long term)*

*Must-haves*
5+ years of network design experience
Expert knowledge with routing protocols and what they are used for (EIGRP,
OSPF, BGP)
Expert in L2, L3 switching and what switches are used for
Working knowledge of Layer 2 protocols (Frame relay, ATM, PPP, HDLC, ISDN,
PRI)
Good understanding of VPN technologies like IPSec protocol and
implementation on routers and firewalls
Experience designing large networks and large network sites worldwide
Will be working with Cisco, 3COM, Juniper and other devices

*Plusses*
Working knowledge on MPLS (L2 & L3 VPN)
CCNP certified or equivalent experience

*Role
*We are looking for network designers who will be responsible for designing
networking environments and handing the designs to someone else to implement.
This person will attend meetings and conference calls, receive requirements
from a project manager, and then use the set topologies and standards to
design a network. They will work in Visio and Excel to construct and draw
out a network design. This person must have a good understanding of what
routers and switches do, what they are used for and what routing protocols
are used for. They will not just be changing configurations in an auto
template, they will need to understand how it works and apply that to
design. They will be working with Cisco, Juniper, 3Com, procurve and HC3
routers and switches and must have a good idea of how these devices
function at particular layers on a network to be successful.
