Sr. Windows Desktop Engineer LOCATION: Reston, VA Duration : 6+ Months DESCRIPTION: Client is looking to enhance the end user computing experience for its internal users. Today, Client end user computing platform consists mainly of about 12,000 Client issued PCs. About 80% of these PCs are laptops and the rest are desktops. All PCs are running windows XP with IE 8 and about 90% of them are using Microsoft Office 2003 professional productivity suite while the rest are using Office professional 2007. Clients objective is to create an end user computing environment that has strong communication and collaboration capabilities with the flexibility to access application and data while safeguarding Client information. In order to achieve this vision, Client is expecting to adopt Windows 7, Bitlocker, Office 2010, SCCM, App-V etc. We are looking for candidates with experience in architecting and engineering these technologies who can strategically jumpstart our modernization program. This is not a function of handling day to day operational end user activities. Must haves skills: Windows 7, SCCM, Application packaging, MDOP, ACT, App-v and other Microsoft tools used for Windows 7 migrations. Must be senior level hands on architects with expertise on above mentioned technologies. At least a minimum of five years experience in these technologies required. We require candidate to have experience in architecting and engineering enterprise level solutions. This means experience in dealing with large companies. Verbal communications skills a must.
