The candidate will fully comply with the organization's SDLC processes for software/system development activities. Candidate must know the Informatica suite of products extremely well especially MDM, PowerCenter, Metadata Manager, Proactive Monitoring and PowerExchange. Knowledge of Data Quality and Data Virtualization are a plus. Developer must bring to bear strong solutions design and development expertise, deep knowledge of computer systems and tool capabilities (and limitations), deep understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts and patterns and sound business knowledge in order to meet the needs of client. Candidate will perform high complexity (i.e. system level applications) analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents. The candidate also resolves defects encountered during various testing cycles. The candidate also will lead or participate in the project management activities (planning, status reporting & execution of the plan) for the full lifecycle of software development. Besides the development projects, the Senior Informatica Developer will have responsibilities in maintaining and supporting team components including infrastructure components, deployment tools or operation tools/utilities. *KEY JOB FUNCTIONS* - The candidate performs detailed analysis, design, development and unit testing of enterprise data warehousing solutions from user requirements documents. Candidate will participate in solutioning and architecture sessions - Work with business users to translate requirements into system flows, data flows, data mappings etc., and develop solutions to complex business problems - Experience in building applications driven by runtime technical metadata with the objective of making new sources and data loads a configuration activity and not a coding activity - Designs generic and reusable components, libraries and frameworks driven by runtime technical metadata - Interact with Release Management, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Database Modeling Support, Database Administrators, other Development teams and Operations as required - Adopting and implementing standards and best practices for software development - Participating in code review sessions as a coordinator, owner or observer - Ensure technical design and implementation complies with established guidelines, best practices and standards - Creates technical detail design artifacts to meet functional specifications and requirements - Responsible for integrating with web service code to support Enterprise-level services - Responsible for integrating with enterprise data quality, metadata and master data services - Responsible for interfacing with an Enterprise Service Bus in both near real-time and batch to load data as soon as available - Participates in the review of the technical acceptance criteria for non-functional requirements - Mentors other team members in Enterprise Data Warehousing Design and Development best practices - Adopts and implements enhanced security authorization, authentication and privacy models including password vaulting and ESSO - Assists with the Solution Test process, content, and results - Assists with the Solution Acceptance and Requirements process, content and results - Participates in Joint Application Design sessions with the Business - Participates in logical & physical data modeling discussions for sub-systems - The candidate may troubleshoot and resolve production support issues as an L3 participant *EDUCATION* - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required *MINIMUM EXPERIENCE* - 8 years of related experience *SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS* - 10 years of experience in full life cycle of application/system development - 10 years of hands-on experience in design and development of large scale ETL and Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions out of which at least 8 years must be in ETL using Informatica. Minimum of 5 years working with MDM and PowerCenter. 3 years working with Proactive Monitoring, Metadata Manager and PowerExchange. Knowledge of Data Quality and Data Virtualization are a plus. Experience in all facets of warehousing including Sourcing/Staging, ODS, DW, Marts, reporting and schema design - Very strong Unix and shell scripting experience required - Strong programming experience with SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle databases - Strong experience in Performance Tuning and developing High Volume Data Loads required - Minimum 2 years developing technical execution metadata driven solutions including business rules - Strong ability to understand and represent high level technical capabilities. General understanding of technical applications and systems - Minimum 2 years’ experience developing in distributed applications development (Database, Transaction Management) - Minimum 4 years’ experience in developing large scale enterprise applications - Must have proven ability to provide project estimates and work-breakdown schedules - Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written.
