*Job Description*
Our Client is seeking a *Business Intelligence Data Analyst / Software
Developer* for a 4+ month project in NY, NY. The candidate selected will
work in the Business Intelligence group building reports, tools, user
facing web applications and data warehouse objects to facilitate the
generation and dissemination of reports, large format data and interfaces
to internal and external clients to promote programs, products and analysis
of our business. Tools and reports will be developed using Perl, SQL, PL,
CGI, PHP and BI Tools on the front end. This job requires interfacing with
BI and other business units to determine business requirements, the ability
to work with other developers and DBA's, high levels of accuracy,
timeliness and insightful analysis.
*Principle Responsibilities*
- Ability to program in Perl and SQL.
- PL SQL, CGI and PHP are all a plus to have.
- Ability to develop, complex data models, relational data structures
with integrity constraints.
- Analyzes and designs data solutions
- Read, interrogate and develop requirements documentation
- Perform Unit testing data analysis and be able to communicate nuance
of data and help in the understanding of data
- Act as a solution-driven developer to understand changing business
needs and direction and ensure that the tools and data structures will meet
those needs
- Optimize data structures through storage configuration, table
analysis and review of queries
- Provide process automation solutions around data management, ETL and
report automation through database tools, Unix shell scripting and other.
- Deliver high availability reporting systems with greater data
integrity, accuracy, and lower latency
*Experience Required*
- Bachelor's degree in related field, 5+ years of experience in
programming and data and/or statistical analysis required
- Ability to program in Perl and SQL
- A minimum of 5 years of relational database experience in, but not
limited to, Oracle 8 ' 11g, SQL Server 2000 and MS Access, Vertica
experience would be a plus to have.
- Testing and implementation of technology solutions (applications, data
warehousing, business intelligence, etc.)
- Linux, Unix environment a must.
- Proficiency in Excel using pivot tables, v-lookup
- Create and maintain quality documentation for technical and
non-technical staff
- Ability to create functional/technical specifications
- Experience with analysis and reporting of consumer transaction
- Business Intelligence and Data Mining Tools Experience a plus
- Experience with VBD (very big data) Data Warehouse solutions, Data
modeling, ETL and other processes to integrate, process, report
and analyze
data
- Skills Required: Unix/Linux, Perl, Sql Server, Oracle SQL and
shell scripting.
- Skills Desired: Familiarity with Vertica Databases.
- Equipment Utilized: PCs, workstations, Window and Linux
environments, experience with data management tools such as Toad, SQL
Developer.
