*Position: Unix Administrator*

*Location: Richmond, VA*

*Duration: 10-11 months Contract*



*Description:*

This job is focused on UNIX security



This position will create Security standards for multiple versions of UNIX
and the related infrastructure. Compliance checks will then be written to
ensure that the infrastructure meet standards. This position requires very
strong knowledge of Red Hat, HP-UX, AIX, Solaris and SuSE. Knowledge of SQL
and perl to develop automation tools is required. Experience with VMware
and virtualization is a plus.



·         Management/Review of UNIX host security configuration and
architecture

·         UNIX system vulnerability assessment/remediation, including the
assessment/deployment of vendor security updates

·         Support ongoing and new security/compliance initiatives

·         Security incident response in coordination with other teams
across the company and/or externally as required

·         Deploy and manage system security compliance tools.

·         Design and development of tools to automate security or security
reporting tasks



·         Provides IT systems support that may include duties such as
installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing.
Also performs quality assurance processes to effectively manage system
availability and improve operations.

·         Includes high-level support of networks, such as administration,
server builds and upgrades, domain configuration, and performance and
tuning.  Also includes network administration.

·         Identifies new security threats by conducting vulnerability
assessments; evaluates and recommends on procedures used to mitigate risks.

·         Develop compliance auditing methodologies and architecture to
manage and protect data in cloud computing environments.

·         Participates in the development of hardware/software/network
security procedures and guidelines on information security.



Service Experience 3+ years

·         Financial Services experience 1+ years required

Regional

·         3+ years of project experience in the quality assurance and
testing phases of projects

·         Client Experience Preferred

·         Deep knowledge of specific systems platforms

·         Mission Criticality Experience working on production systems

·         Troubleshooting: Advanced demonstration of diagnostic skills

·         Provides clear concise communication with project team and
mid-level management

·         Demonstrated ability to work with individual third parties and
coordinate solutions internally third parties and coordinate solutions

*More Details:*

This position will require a deep understanding of multiple variants of
unix and perl. We create and write security compliance checks using perl on
linux. This job will be working at a command line and the programming will
occur on linux. We prefer someone who has managed solutions in a large
scale environment. Prefer someone with a security background and has worked
as a system administrator before.
