Job Description:                    DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

1 Mobile Web Developer to work in New York, NY with a NY City Agency. The
Application Developer is responsible for developing a mobile-responsive web
site that will be accessible from IOS, Android and Windows phones/devices
as well as desktop web browsers (Internet Explorer, FireFox & Safari).

The incumbent is responsible for analyzing user specifications and
requirements that reflect business needs, and subsequently delivering
high-quality software solutions that meet business needs. The incumbent
must design, develop, test, maintain and modify software programs according
to specifications, verifying logic, performing necessary debugging, and
writing related documentation. By aligning skills with overall technology
strategies, the incumbent is also called upon to develop interfaces and
integrate systems.

The incumbent may be called upon to assist others on large and complex
projects by analyzing and evaluating interrelationships of programs to
determine how changes in one program will affect another. The incumbent may
also be called upon to perform a variety of duties to insure the proper
operation of systems, to meet IT commitments to the business, and to
leverage the strengths and skills of individuals within the overall team
effectively.

Daily Tasks:

•           Develop a mobile responsive website with interactive mapping
utilizing GPS location with Google Maps API

•           Works at the highest level of all technical phases of
programming; requires a high degree of creative thinking and the ability to
use the accumulated knowledge and experience of others

•           Critically reviews all programs prior to implementation to
verify consistency and conformance with established departmental
guidelines, policies and practices as well as industry standard guidelines;
performs acceptance testing and program implementation for assigned systems
and/or projects.

•           Responsible for the underlying architecture for the software
program

•           Oversees the work being done by any other software engineers
working on the project

•           Mentors new or lower-level software developers or programmers,
as well all the members on the development team

•           Serve as an interface between the programmers and management

•           Has ownership of development plans and have supervisorial
responsibilities in delegating work and ensuring that software projects
come in on time and under budget

•           Serves as technical advisers to management and provide
programming perspective on requirements

Mandatory Requirements:

•           mySQL or SQL Server with advanced stored procedure experience

•           HTML, CSS, JavaScript

•           XML and XSLT

•           Tomcat  6

•           Java and Java Servlets

•           JSP with JSTL

•           jQuery and jQueryMobile

•           .NET

Desired Skills:

•           Experience developing interactive mapping for IOS & Android
devices utilizing the devices GPS location with Google Maps API.

•           Experience creating a mobile friendly web site

Special Requirements:

Must demo at least one mobile web app you created; be prepared to discuss
your code
