*Please respond with Resume & Contact details of the consultant to: [email protected] <[email protected]> ASAP* *Direct Client Requirement* *Position: Sr. SQL Server DBA* *Location: Dallas, TX* *Duration: 6-12 months contract* *Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator *to manage and maintain production and non-production SQL Server relational databases *Specific duties include*: •Installation and administration of SQL Server 2008+ databases on Windows 2008+ servers in a multiple database server, high availability environment •Evaluate service packs and provide minimal risk based strategy for implementation. •Establish and maintain standards, policies, configuration guidelines and procedures •Perform weekly on-call rotation for production operations and other environments (as needed) •Monitor databases for resource utilization. Initiate corrective action to ensure all database servers meet processing requirements for performance and reliability •Performance tuning and query optimization •Create and maintain SQL server replication •Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of all supporting documentation •Participate in database design process •Management of databases, schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints •Database Security •Backup and Recovery (Policy, Process and Operation) •Create, edit and maintain DTS/SSIS Packages •Create, test and document custom stored procedures •Space management •Database maintenance plans Job Requirements: - *5+ years as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA (3+ years SQL Server 2008)* - *5+ years as a DBA supporting a production environment* - *3+ years programming experience in VB.Net or C#* - *3+ years experience with advanced database clustering/mirroring/Always On technologies* - In depth knowledge related to computer hardware (servers, networks, SAN, RAID devices, I/O subsystems) - Strong working experience with Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2008 – Windows 2012 R2) - Expertise with table/index design *The following skills are a plus:* - Understanding of project management and ability to provide and manage scope definition, project plans, risk assessment and reporting is a plus - Familiarity with Agile development methodology - Exposure to other development languages and applications such as MS Access, dBase, Crystal Reports, XML, ASP, Java, HTML and PowerShell is a plus - SQL Server certification is a plus Thanks & Regards, Prasad Mamidela | Technical Recruiter | Cigniti Inc.
