The Cloud Developer needs to: • Quickly learn, understand and enhance the current architecture and it components. • Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. • Ensures software standards are met across the development team. • Participate in full lifecycle development activities including: o Analysis of product and technical requirements specifications. o Design and develop Java-based features, enhancements, and fixes using Object-Oriented Design techniques. o Development based on a test first driven approach. o Automation of Unit and Integration tests to support a Continuous Integration environment. o Actively participating in peer review sessions (documents, code). o Support testing and Production deployments. o Continuous improvement and optimization of current code base. • Work closely with Software Architect to lead migration of current architecture to AWS-based micro-services architecture. *Qualifications:* • BS or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent). • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design. • Extensive programming experience in Java/J2EE (Java 8) with at least 5 years of real world experience. • Working experience with at least one Agile application development methodology. • Experience with REST API design and implementation. • Experience with Formal, automated Unit and Integration Testing and Continuous Integration. • Experience developing applications that interact with SQL Databases including knowledge of SQL (Oracle experience preferred, but not essential). • Experience in meeting or exceeding systems design criteria of 99.999% availability. • Several years of experience with large, multi-threaded systems software design and development, with extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux. *Technologies Used on the Project:* • Java 8 • Jetty • DropWizard • Oracle RDBMS • Apache • Centos • DynamoDB • Spring/Hibernate *Role : Amazon AWS Cloud Architect.* *Duration : 6 months + * *Location : Sterling, VA* *Responsibilities:* The Software Architect creates highly reliable, scalable, and high performing systems; works closely with development, certification and operation teams to lead architectural, code, and process changes to improve efficiency; works with Operations to ensure seamless deployments, low mean time to resolution of issues and sufficient capacity to meet demands of a system; and works with management to ensure architectures fit within IT budgets and SLA agreements with customers fit with designed parameters.
