SAS Macro Programmer/Analyst Contract position in Quincy, MA 6+ months Will phone/skype interview *Qualifications* At least three years of work experience in a healthcare analytic or data management environment (e.g., health plan experience). Proficient in SAS and/or SQL, ACCESS, and other data manipulation tools. Strong critical thinking and programming skills. Advanced understanding of health care administrative data and complex healthcare databases. Knowledge of health care terminology and use of diagnoses, revenue codes, etc. SAS Macro Expertise. Master's in Public Health (Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy) preferred. Strong analytical skills set. *Preferred Qualifications* Experience with Medicaid Claims and Encounter data preferred. Prior experience with Macro development. SAS Certification. The SAS Programmer/Analyst will work with the team and stakeholders to develop automated macros to provide standard data and produce reports from the Data Warehouse. He/She will also perform data manipulation and in-depth analysis of complex health care data using programming languages such as SAS and SQL to produce analyses on costs, utilization, and outcomes. The ideal candidate will have superior SAS and SQL Programming skills as well as analytic skills. He/she must be adept at conducting data manipulation and performing in-depth analyses of complex health care administrative data. The SAS Macro Programmer/Analyst will have an opportunity to inform business decisions through analyses, so the ideal candidate will have an interest and understanding of MassHealth programs, in addition to being an exemplary SAS or SQL programmer. We are looking for individuals with advance data manipulation/programming and analytic skills who show a passion and interest in health care/health care policy. *Duties* Create specifications and logic to perform analyses that support program goals or answer questions about populations. Manipulate and build datasets from claims and encounter data to support analyses through use of efficient SAS/SQL code. Develops automated processes for standard clinical and costs measures. Create, validate, and maintain SAS Macro procedures and reports. Analyze, interpret, and present information from multiple data sources utilizing a broad array of technology resources (Cognos, Excel, SAS, Access, PowerPoint, SQL, etc.).
