Application Support Engineer 12+ Months Madison, WI *OPT, GC , USC* *Responsibilities:* - Providing support for our major applications including Policy Center, Billing Center, Commercial Farm Ranch, and Claims Center - Programming Environmental Configuration Changes in the Source Code - Triaging problems related integrations, deployments, new releases of the applications - Configuring XML files to manage End Points - Configure Message Queues - Monitoring message transports and startable plug-ins - Checking the health of changes by evaluating our major applications by looking through application and server logs - Responsible for all aspects of environment configuration, end points, queues etc - Will maintain of a list of current environment owners, schedules for usage etc - Will maintain the object inventory for each software release *Required Skills:* 1. 3 to? 10 years of Java Development experience 2. 1 or more years experience support Java applications 3. 1 or more years of experience work with Application Integration 4. 2 or more years of experience in Object Oriented development 5. 1 or more years of experience in developing and consuming Web Services 6. Has the ability to understand architecture and integrations with Java based SOA 7. Has strong Relationship Building skills 8. Has basic understanding of Build/Deployment process knowledge in Java applications 9. MUST have Strong Communication Skills 10. Communicate implementation plans, status, and issues to several stakeholders 11. Contribute to implementation plan (including contact lists, communication plan, back out strategy, and Production verification) and review with project teams and stakeholders 12. Act as central point of contact for specified environments within product releases 13. Work with environment team for requirement review, setup and configuration of pre- prod environments 14. Influence parallel development strategies including branching, merging, and version management 15. Identifies areas of risk and conflict within and across multiple releases and work with project teams to mitigate these issues 16. Needs Change Management process knowledge and tool experience (e.g. CA service desk, HP Service Manager) *Desired Skills:* 1. MDB 2. Java J2EE development skills preferred 3. Spring STRUTS integration 4. Spring JDBC 5. Object Oriented Support 6. J-Unit 7. MyEclipse 8. Agile 9.
