*Position: Windows Server Administration * *Location: St. Louis, MO* *Duration: 6 months* *Position summary:* The main purpose of this position is to provide technical support of all business and IT sponsored projects. This includes the configuration, management, and support for the Windows Server environment and related hardware and software. *Essential functions: * · Perform advanced engineering and administration duties required to maintain the Microsoft Windows environment (30%). · Provide advanced level technical expertise and perform tasks for all related infrastructure projects, including business continuity and disaster recovery (25%). · Provide advanced level expertise in the design and maintenance required to ensure the high availablity of the Microsoft Windows environment (10%) · Provide 24x7 support of the Windows environment including after-hours maintenance and on-call duties (10%). · Work closely with business and I.S. associates, and outside vendors to effectively design, plan, and execute Windows environment additions and changes (10%). · Provide leadership and mentoring to other department team members. (10%). · Enforce, manage and create policies and procedures (5%). · Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: · Advanced level knowledge of Windows administration and tuning concepts. · Advanced level knowledge of server hardware systems · Knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts, DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, Group Policy. · Understanding of storage area networks and network attached storage environments. · Experience with Virtualized Computing preferred. · Project management and documentation skills with great attention to detail. · Advanced communication and professional skils with the ablility to establish relationships across business units. · Ability and willingness to continue building technical knowledge and skills. · Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks. · Advanced knowledge of client systems and associated technical dependencies preferred. · Ability to engineer solutions within technical discipline. · Ability to support complex service impacting issues with little to no supervision. · Ability to mentor Analysts and Administrators to bridge technical or professional skills gaps. · Ability to effectively lead major project efforts as a discipline resource. · Assist with technical evaluations, POCs and/or technical recommendations. · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. · Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers or management. · Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. · Knowledge of security administration including secure configuration based on server type. · Solid scripting skills with a focus on automation. · Ability to rack 50 pound servers as needed. · Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. · Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all client associates and by having a positive attitude. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: · Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. · 4+ years of technical experience in current Intel/Windows-based server design, configuration, management, troubleshooting and support, including clustered environments, and directory/security/email support and administration required. · 3+ years experience supporting geographically dispersed production environments preferred. · 3+ years of experience supporting HA and DR strategies preferred. · MCSE certification preferred.
