Hey guys,
Here's a new one. Candidate does not have to be local, more important that they have the key skills for the position. It's a tough mix, let me know if you have anyone that looks like a good fit. Right candidate will most likely come from a retail environment where credit card transactions were processed. *Role: Java developer with webspehere experience.* *Length:* 7-9 Months *Location: *South of Boston, MA *Interview Process: *Phone interview then possible Skype (locals preferred but not required) *Keys: **Strong Java/J2EE, Websphere* (preferably upgrade experience), PCI standards (credit card processing) *Description:* The main function of the contract developer is development support for existing applications and new development/integration on 3 new projects. The existing platform is *J2EE, Struts, JSP, Hibernate, Oracle, IBM Websphere*. These skills are mandatory. New projects include a Websphere upgrade, a mobile web application "readiness" project and a PCI Security Standards project. Each of these projects requires skills beyond the core must haves: *Websphere 7.1-8.5* Upgrade experience Responsive Web Design (RWD) Understanding of PCI standards It is important that the contract developer have experience in optimizing code, as each of the new projects will require that no negative impacts occur to application performance. Our client uses NeoLoad for stress testing, so experience with this or similar tools is preferred. Our client works with many 3rd party apps that integrate through web services, so experience with web services is also mandatory. Our client's development group is not large (5 team members) so each person has the opportunity (and responsibility) to wear multiple hats. Interaction is not limited to the development team as our client works with several outsourcing vendors for special development projects. The contract developer will need to be able to work closely with these 3rd party teams at times and assist management in ensuring their work is being done to spec and to deadline. Interaction will be mainly in person, but some team members work remotely, so the ability to communicate clearly over the phone is important.
