*Position: Data Architect* *Location: Torrance, CA* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Description* *Project/Role Description:* - Candidate will work under the general supervision of the Data Architecture - Manager and assist in the following areas: - Define Data Architecture standards, best practices and participate in governance activities. - Lead key data architecture & data management initiatives. - Candidate will be responsible for development and maintenance of data architecture in support of project development team and aligning them to the Enterprise Architecture - Review business requirements and technical design documents to develop effective data and database solutions - Create, maintain and define Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data - Models for various Honda manufacturing projects using Relational theory and Dimensional modeling - Provide insight into the logical business data requirement to work with the DBA to support physical data model considerations - Define, maintain and adhere to enterprise modeling standards - Develop ETL specification and document data migration mappings and transformations for data warehouse loading - Ensure solution designs address performance requirements and availability, integrity and security challenges as well as business functional requirements - Work closely with Analytics Team who is responsible for the development of the analytics function delivery of analytics projects across the business. - Required Qualifications: *Experience:* - Needs at least 7 to 10 years' experience in IT industry - At least 5 years of experience as Data Architect - In depth Understanding of Data Architecture & Data Management practices - At least 2-3 years of recent experience with Erwin - Thorough understanding of data modeling techniques for operational & analytical data stores. - Strong background in defining data modeling covering conceptual, logical and physical data models, dimensional data models, Data Dictionary and Metadata - Strong background in data architecture design of applications using RDBMS, especially DB2 UDB - Must have experience on building Data Warehouse and Data Marts - Experience in developing information requirements and taking a project from conceptualization to implementation - Conduct JAD sessions, gather user data requirements, understand the user requirements and assist in the reconciliation of technical and business requirements as they relate to data - Strong prior experience in documenting the design specifications including data interface specifications and/or data mappings - Familiarity with Big Data project implementations is desired - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant computer-relatedfield or 7+ years equivalent experience *Personal:* - Must have good interpersonal and communications skills - Able to work independently and provide updates to leads and management - Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities - Desired Skills: - - Automotive manufacturing experience is a definite plus. - Experience with data & legacy application integration with 3rd party packages - Experience and knowledge in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and web based development in an n-tier environment - Experience in documenting the design specifications including data interface specifications and/or data mappings - Experience with programming in Mainframe and Unix environments (Cobol and Unix shell scripting) - Experience with Data warehousing and Reporting and tools like Informatica, Informatica PowerCenter Designer and Business Objects.
