The candidate will be working as part of a small, dynamic team and will be responsible for leading all aspects of the GUI from designing to implementation. The ideal candidate must have proven track record building the Web infrastructure using technologies such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced start-up environment. *Responsibilities:* Understand the value proposition of VA and design a GUI that addresses the business objectives. Build the GUI as part of a middle layer running Java and interacting over REST interfaces. Work closely with the VA Marketing Team & server-side system team to understand and translate the features into GUI. Be a leader and a self-starter; present your design and drive it through completion. Be an advocate of rapid development principles; short iterative development cycles with frequent feedback loops. *Requirements:* Minimum BSEE/CS with at least 5 years of recent working experience in Web-related technologies. Strong software systems design skills and familiarity with the current industry best practices. Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, CSS, AJAX and Web Client frameworks (JQuery, ExtJS, etc..). Solid understanding of HTTP and REST concepts. HTML5, CSS3, AJAX Comet experience is a big plus. Experience in usability engineering, including user analysis and usability testing a plus. Energetic, proactive problem solver with great attention to detail. Excellent team player with ability to lead, motivate, and guide other members of the team. Ability to work in a flexible, fast changing environment.
