Someone with very good communication skills, someone that can work with
PL's, BA's, Developers, and Architects to define and document the technical
specifications.
General Description:
The Systems Analyst role provides technical guidance, design expertise and
leadership for technology related projects. The SA's primary project
involvement includes contributing to the application architecture, which is
ultimately owned by the Application Architect, review and approval of major
technology implementation decisions, and assistance or guidance to help
resolve technology related issues during the project lifecycle. The primary
deliverables are the Solution Recommendation (Design Specification
Deliverables List), Technical Design Specification Documents, which are tied
directly to BA Requirements and/or Needs and Features, and other artifacts
critical to the delivery or maintainability of high quality application
assets for the bank. i.e.Support Documentation, Technical Test Cases and
Scripts for Regression and Smoke Tests, etc.
The SA is accountable for the overall system design and integrity. A major
focus of the SA role is to balance technical considerations and project cost
constraints with the purpose of creating designs that fit the business
function, are as simple as possible, and are consistent with client's
Enterprise Architecture strategy.
*Scope of the Position:*
The involvement of an SA is intended to mitigate significant risks
associated with projects which have a high technical complexity and/or
involve significant challenges to the business.
The projects that a SA leads will typically involve:
· Leading a number of development & technical resources
· Often involve directing multiple remote and/or off-shore resources
· Often involve leading technology resources from many other IT peer groups.
The SA is expected to partner with the architect roles to provide the
primary technical leadership on projects. This includes directing/coaching
the development team. The SA will also collaborate across the enterprise
with teams from engineering, Information Protection, EPS, and other
implementation resources to ensure proper creation, testing, and deployment
of the solution design.

· Analyzes the business requirements holistically in order to identify
application "patterns" which drive the application software design.
· Identifies areas of risk due to uncertainty, technology gaps, etc.
· Leads risk mitigation planning for the identified risks.
· Creates solution recommendations (with a Design Specification Deliverables
List) and subsequent application system designs (Technical Design
Specification Documents) which deliver business value while balancing both
the cost and benefits of technology choices.
· Provides a portion of the project estimate taking into account the
identified risks.
· Leads the process to make key architectural design decisions for the
project.
· Accountable for the feasibility, fit and cost of the design.
· Identifies opportunities to improve existing assets.
